iOS, tvOS, and React Native for Eurovision Sport, including server-driven UI and playback used by millions.

What I did

  • Led a UI migration from React Native to native Swift and SwiftUI, improving rendering performance by about 70%.
  • Designed a two-tier degradation strategy with backend teams across IAS, MDS, and Content Builder: a full-screen "services down" state for a total outage, and a "limp mode" banner for partial failure.
  • Built the UAV SDK, analytics covering both AVPlayer and the app itself: launch, screens, and crashes.
  • Implemented server-driven UI on Eurovision Sport, and owned Bitrise releases, reviews, and mentoring.
  • Built playback with AVPlayer, Bitmovin, HLS, and FairPlay / Widevine DRM, including error recovery across devices and networks.
  • Integrated Stripe, Apple Pay, OAuth, and GDPR-compliant analytics, and validated the payment and auth flows.

Nagra's white-label OTT platform, delivered to operators worldwide, built on a player I wrote from first principles.

What I did

  • Built a custom tvOS player on AVPlayer from scratch: clear content first, then low latency, error handling and ABR, then FairPlay DRM.
  • Extended the DRM work to Android with ExoPlayer and Widevine, and helped build the NMP Player SDK for iOS, tvOS and React Native.
  • Led a team of around 10 engineers in 2019, staying hands-on, and integrated Mux analytics.

Problem

GeGo Home is a native iOS and iPadOS household coordination app, designed to reduce everyday family chaos by giving everyone a clear view of what needs attention, who is responsible, and what is coming next.

Product thinking

I am designing and building the product end to end in SwiftUI, with a focus on calm UX, privacy-aware task visibility, household collaboration, and a maintainable native architecture.

Architecture

  • Native SwiftUI architecture using Observation, pragmatic MVVM, pure domain rules, and value-based navigation.
  • A progressive household domain designed around Tasks, Members, future Spaces, and recurring Routines.

Engineering decisions

  • An attention-based Home that prioritises approaching, overdue, and important household tasks.
  • Interactive task flows for completion, reminders, rescheduling, reassignment, and Undo.
  • A family overview of each member’s responsibilities, with Personal and shared task visibility.
  • Native local notifications and contextual reminders.
  • Unit tests around task ranking, privacy, reminders, reassignment, and household behaviour.

What’s next

Evolving GeGo Home beyond a shared to-do list into a model of the household itself — spaces, recurring home-care routines, assignment requests, and a derived view of which areas of the home need attention.
